Nude Nails

I wanted to use the nail polish that Birchbox had sent me to replace the ybf eyebrow pencil I received that was broken. I know I've said it before but Birchbox has the best costumer service I've ever seen experienced!

I'm wearing ZOZA polish in "Pandora"

It's a glossy pink toned nude, I applied two coats and it's still a tad sheer. I put on a top coat of Sally Hansen "Mega Shine" (though I didn't notice it add anymore shine) and they chipped within two days.

All and all I do like the color and maybe if I purchase a better top coat it would last longer? I've been hearing great things about Seche Vite, perhaps I'll give a try!

If you have any tips or recommendations on polishes and topcoats I'd love to hear them! Thanks for reading :)

Dinair Airbrush System

Dinair Airbrush Review Pt. 1

I've been researching airbrush makeup for the past month and finally broke down and purchased a kit for myself. If you're interested in airbrush makeup I strongly suggest that you research all the different companies until you find one that fits your needs best. The popular brands that you hear about most are Temptu, Dinair, Luminous Air and so forth. Temptu was not an option, it didn't offer enough for the price, though I know many people own it and love it.

I was looking for something that would be matte, long lasting and to help cover up the scaring I have on my cheeks. I was willing to invest in purchasing a system if I could find one that I believed best suited my needs. Like most, I've spent endless amounts of income on makeup, acne treatments, etc. The idea of "flawless" skin is an incredible thought, is it not?!

I purchased the Foundation Deluxe Kit for $199 and after tax my total came to $209.51
It's a investment, definitely.

"Enough Rambling, do you love your Dinair or not?!"

Ordering Process

The web site is very easy to follow, well organized and informative. I've heard so many great things about there costumer service but I'll get to that later. They offer a free "Color match" so you're able to achieve a perfect match, no matter your skin tone. All you have to do is E-mail them a photo or yourself and they'll E-mail back what they believe will suit your skin tone best! I chose to just buy the kit in "Light" and passed on the color match. I know I glow in the dark already, I didn't need anyone to tell me!! Ha ha

There are fourteen different color compressors that you are able to choose from and then a variety of shades and accessories. The kits comes with the compressor, a brush (the gun and a hose), accessories (rubber band, caps/plugs, etc), cleaner and the makeup colors of your choice.

Color Options
Foundation Color Options

Every shade comes in three sizes- .25 ounces, .50 ounces, or 1.15 ounces. Pricing varies depending on the formula. They also have a Paramedical line of foundations, which is supposed offer more coverage for scaring, covering tattoos, etc. The Paramedical line is a little more pricey than the Glamour line, they start at $18, $26 and $35.

(My order)

My Thoughts On The Company

I won't lie, I was a little unhappy that the three E-mails I sent went unanswered. I do wish the costumer service was better, it would have made my experience that much better. I ordered my kit on July 17th and received it on July 25th. The box came in the mail and was nicely packaged, everything was sealed so that any unfortunate spills that might occur wouldn't have a chance!

Dinair is first airbrushing system and has been around for years and I felt comfortable purchasing a system from them.

My Thought On The Products

I'll be honest, if you've never airbrushed before (like me), don't expect to be amazing at it right away! I had such high hopes for the system that after trying it for the first time I was crushed and thinking about sending it back. I know, I can be a little dramatic (I've always been an all or nothing kind of gal!).

The Foundation

I remember watching Kandee Johnson on a bridal video I believe saying how she applies it without the airbrush system and just works it into her skin with her fingers. I don't find that it covers or looks good that way, though I do love Kandee Johnson (what works for some, doesn't work for everyone)!

The coverage starts off sheer (as it is small pixels being sprayed on your skin) but it is definitely build able.

Blush

Oh my, the first time I used the blush it wasn't all that pretty!! Ha ha I suggest watching the DVD that they send you in your kit before attempting to use it straight out of the box, it's full of great information and helpful hints!!

I've been using this system everyday for the past four days and so far...I love it!!!! Liquid makeup always seemed to slide off of my face and my powder mineral makeup would get patchy after about 45 minutes. I applied this at 3pm, ran errands, went to the beach for
3 hours and hung out with a friend until 2am and when I came home my makeup still looked great! That's 11 hours of wear (and tear from the beach) and my makeup still looked great, I'm sold! I didn't order any eye shadows, brow shadows, stencils or any of the other neat things they have to offer on their website but now I wish I had!!

Final Thoughts

I'm extremely pleased with my Dinair Airbrushing System and can't wait to try out more products from Dinair!! My skin stays matte (finally), the makeup is weightless (it feels like you're wearing nothing!) and it covers up imperfections like no other!! I can't wait to try the Paramedical line for my scaring, the eye and lip shades and and more. I truly recommend this system for anyone that has oily, acne prone skin and who is looking for great coverage or anyone that is just looking for flawless skin that lasts all day.

In part 2 I'll show pictures of everything I purchased, what I use and before and after photos! I hope this review was helpful and if you have any questions I would be more than happy to do my best to answer them!! Thanks so much for reading :)

Nail Fun!

Sally Hansen Salon Effects

I finally caved into the latest "nail crave" and gave Sally Hansen Salon Effects a shot. I've been hearing and seeing a lot about these creative nail designs just about everywhere lately. I use to get my nails done often when I was younger but as I got older I realized I could do them myself for a fraction of the price!

What Is It?

"Sally Knows nails are the best accessory. Now, Sally makes it easy to get a salon effect anytime, any place. It wears like nail polish because it IS nail polish. No dry time, so you’re ready to go."

First Thoughts

I know that many people have no trouble applying these bad boys but for me, it was a nightmare!!! I had read the instructions numerous times and still managed to flub it up! Ha ha I didn't find them as easy to apply as I had hoped but I refused to give up. A couple of my nails have a "wrinkled effect" due to my applying them improperly.

What Do They Look Like?

I chose the pattern called "Check It Out"

How Long Do They Last?

The web site says that they last ten days but I have only had them on for a little over 5 days and they aren't looking so hot. Than again, not much stays on my nails with all the wear and tear I do to my poor hands! Ha ha

Final Thoughts

I do like how my nails look and with a little bit of practice I'm sure that I could get them to look better (thus liking this product even more). I thought they were stickers until I opened the little packs they came in and they reeked of nail polish! They give you sixteen "stickers" in different sizes for your finger nails. The extra six are in case you mess up (which I did) but I wish they just gave you twenty instead! They cost me nine dollars, I would have had to pay a lot more to get them styled at a salon. All and all, I do like this product and would most likely try them again.

Here is a link to the web site incase you wanted to check them out more

Sally Hansen Airbrushed Legs

Airbrushed Legs Anyone?

Okay, I'll admit the idea of makeup all over my legs didn't sound so appealing but I couldn't resist trying this product after hearing so many great reviews on it. So, do I love it, hate it or think it's decent?!

Sally Hansen Airbrushed Legs
What Is It?
"Tanning and pantyhose are so yesterday. Now you can give your legs a makeover in just seconds. No sun. No salon. No streaks. Just flawless looking, irresistible, sexy legs. This light-weight leg makeup, enriched with Palmaria Extract, enhances the coverage of freckles, veins and imperfections. It’s water and transfer resistant. Bare legs are nice. Airbrush Legs are irresistible."

First Thoughts

I've heard some say that they just spray this product directly on their legs while the instructions say to spray the product on your hands and than apply it to your skin. I deiced to follow the instructions, sprayed a small amount into my hand and rubbed the product into my skin.I want to start off by saying this stuff dries, FAST!!! You have to work this product into your skin quickly or else it might look a little streaky.

My Review

I love it! It takes a little while to work into your skin, but the end result is lovely! I bought the shade "Tan Glow" (though I'm pretty pale) they were out of "Medium Glow" so I opted for the next best thing? Ha ha. It wasn't "orangey", I wouldn't recommended it if I thought it would make anyone look like a oompa loompa! That being said, I love the color, how quickly it dries and the staying power. I even went swimming with it on and it didn't come off at all! As soon as you lather your legs up with soap, the product will come off.

Final Thoughts

Buy it! If you're looking for something that you can put on before a late night out with the girls, have great looking legs or a date night out in your LBD, this is the product for you! Though I thought this shade would be to dark for me, it suits my summer skin tone perfectly! If you have any questions feel free to ask!

July Birchbox

Hey there! I'm on a roll, two blog posts in one day?! I wanted to share my experience with Birchbox and the samples that I received this month. Here we go...!

What Is Birchbox?
"Birchbox delivers the best products and the best insider secrets, without any fuss. Every month Birchbox members will receive a curated box of luxe beauty samples. Each box will span beauty categories and deliver exciting products that fit into both your day-to-day routine, and into those days when you want to turn up the drama a notch."

First Thoughts
I had never heard of Birchbox until this past June and I decided quite quickly to sign up! Now I have to admit, I've heard mixed reviews on Birchbox and didn't set my expectations too high. I had heard a ton of Youtubers and Bloggers talking about how great the July Birchbox was going to be and how it was going to be full of Cynthia Rowley's favorite products. Signing up ended up being a nightmare and took two days and numerous calls to Birchbox (the costumer service is AMAZING!). My box shipped out two weeks after I signed up and arrived in the mall not too long after.

I love the cover sleeve on the box!!

When you First open the box you will find a card that has a little message from the company on one side and a list and description of the products on the other side.

What's Inside My July Birchbox?

1. Korres Shower gel- A deliciously foamy body wash with aloe to keep skin soft long after you've toweled off and an exotically fragrance.

2. Philosophy Purity made simple one-step facial cleanser- The perennial award-winner is pH-balanced to gently clear away dirt, oil, and makeup without drying out skin.

3. Redken Shine Flash- A must for all Cynthia's runway shows, this weightless spray gives hair a brilliant sheen.

4. Ybf Beauty automatic eye brow pencil in universal taupe- A two-in-one brow-tamer: the comb brushes hairs into place, while the creamy pencil fills in sparse areas.

Also inside the box was a "Extra Kind" Almond & Apricot snack bar (which FYI tasted incredible!).

Product Thoughts
I obviously opened the tested out the almond bar, I'm a sucker for almost all things food related! Haha. It was delicious!!

As for the Redken shine spray I've used it about four times and can't tell much of a difference in the appearance of my hair but the scent doesn't bother me so I'll continue to use it and keep you updated!

Korres shower gel- The smell seems to be a tad bit manly to me but it feels great on the skin and definitely leaves my arms and legs feeling silky. All and all I like it enough to finish the sample but wouldn't repurchase it on my own.

Philosophy face wash- I haven't tried this yet but when I do I'll definitely share my thoughts. I've always wanted to try Philosophy's line so I'm excited to try this out!

I'm not big on shading in my eyebrows (though maybe I should be) but when I attempted to use it the whole entire thing popped out and broke? I've heard wonderful things on this pencil via QVC, sadly I won't be able to review this one for you guys! With that being said I sent the ladies at birchbox an e-mail about this issue and they could not have been sweeter or more helpful! Unfortunately, they are unable to replace the brow pencil as they no longer have any in stock but they offered me three other choices!! I could have another Korres shower gel, a Zoya nail polish or birchbox points. I chose a Zoya nail polish is the color "pandora".

Final Thoughts
I am above and beyond pleased with Birchbox costumer service. They e-mailed as soon as they were back in the office that monday morning and about twenty minutes after I replied they e-mailed me back and gave me a tracking number. I look forward to using the new products and am enjoying the ones that I am already using. If you're into beauty products, like samples and enjoy getting a little mini birthday gift each month I think you should sign up!! It's ten dollars a month and this months box was well worth it! Until next time, take care!

Lipstick Rants, Reviews & Swatches

I haven't always been one for lipstick and that's putting it nicely..haha. When I'd think about lipstick I'd think about my grandmothers and how they'd always leave makeup all over my face or dresses on holidays (I've always hated that!!!) and how sticky my cheeks would feel!

With that being said, after twenty-one years of never wearing lipstick or gloss, I caved. I started wearing MAC a couple years back and haven't stopped since. They have a program called "Back To MAC" which you can learn more about herehttp://www.maccosmetics.com/giving_back/btm_return_packaging.tmpl. In lamest terms you give them six of your empty containers and you can get a free lipstick, gloss or eyeshadow. If it's just a MAC counter than you can only get a lipstick, where as at a MAC store you can also get a gloss or shadow.

On To My Small Collection

(Colors in order from left to right- Snob, Pretty Please, Viva Glam Gaga, Angel, Creme D' Nude)

E.L.F. Revlon, Maybelline, L'oreal

(Colors in order from left to right- Fairest Nude, Born With It, Soft Nude, Pink Sugar, Natural Nymth, Runway Pink

Wet and Wild, Rimmel, E.l.F.
902C, Airy Fairy, Classy
(Colors from left to right- Airy Fairy(Rimmel), Classy (E.L.F.), 902C (Wet and Wild)

Thoughts
I'll start off by saying that I love MAC lipsticks, if I had to choose a favorite company, it would be MAC. The color payoff is incredible and the they smell and taste like vanilla.

E.L.F. mineral lipsticks I don't find having a scent or taste. They can be really drying, than again my MAC lipsticks dry my lips out also and they are about ten dollars more than E.L.F! As for the cheap lipsticks from E.L.F I hate the scent and taste, I dislike it so much that I won't even use the one I purchased (though the color is a great dupe for MAC Angel).

Wet and Wild...ugh. I don't like the texture, colors or anything about them. I've heard great things about them and how inexpensive they are, maybe in the future I'll give them another try!

Rimmel has nice colors but again with the fruity scent!! Why can't lipsticks all be unscented or taste like vanilla?!

As for Maybelline, I really do like the shade Born With It. It's light and sheer but adds a nice sheen to your lips. It reminds me more of a gloss than a lipstick shade. The scent is fruity.

I have one L'oreal lipstick in the shade Fairest Nude which I had heard amazing reviews on. Nude lipsticks are always hard to buy. You can never tell if it's an orange nude, pink nude or it has more of a brown hue. This lipstick looks brown on my lips and I hate it! Haha I wanted to love it but between the color and horrific scent, I can't!

Conclusion
These are all my own thoughts about these products and not meant to "bash" or "put down" the people who might happen to love what I dislike. We're all different and what works for some skin tones might not work for others. I hope you enjoyed this long, ramble about my lipsticks as I enjoy reading others reviews so much!! Take care :)
